In a recent unprecedented move, schools’ minister Lord Hill has strengthened the rules on the teaching of evolution in free schools on the threat of withdrawal of funding. Is this not the first time that schools have been mandated exactly what to teach in a particular subject in science lessons and a further indication of Government lobbying by humanist and other secular organisations?
The position of Truth in Science is not that evolution should not be taught, but rather that the scientific evidence which is contrary to neo-Darwinian hypothesis should also be taught. It is in the interests of science and science students that teaching in schools should be evidence-led and that students be taught to appraise all scientific theories critically (i.e. consider evidence FOR and AGAINST).
